GENERAL MANDATES FOR ALL MINISTRY TEAMS
1. The ministry teams appointed by the church council shall carry out their duties according to:
A. Holy scripture
B. The church order of the Christian Reformed Church
C. The decisions of the church council
D. The specific provisions of each ministry mandate
2. The ministry teams shall ordinarily meet on a stated date and time and shall present a written report to the church council, reporting an account of the activities of the ministries since the last report and any recommendations the ministry teams wish to make.
3. Insofar as practicable, all appointments to the ministry teams shall be for a period of three years, so arranged that approximately one third of the terms expire each year. Members shall be eligible for re-appointment for a second term only. The pastor, or in his absence, the vice-president of the church council, shall be a member ex-officio of all the ministry teams.
4. The church council shall designate the chairperson of each ministry team and the teams shall name their other functionaries.
5. Each ministry team is authorized to appoint ad-hoc committees from among its members and/or the members of the congregation at large. Such ad-hoc committees shall report to the respective ministry teams that appointed them. All appointments to the ad-hoc committees shall be for a period of three years, so arranged that approximately one third of the terms expire each year. Committee members are encouraged to limit themselves to two 3-year terms serving on a committee.
6. Each ministry team shall coordinate and consult with the other ministry teams through the ministry chairperson.
7. No later than May 1 of each year, each ministry team shall submit to the deacons its budget requests, with the necessary details, for the ensuing years.
8. The chairpersons of the ministry teams shall meet regularly to coordinate the ministries of the church and shall make joint recommendations to the church council whenever necessary.

THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE CHURCH:
1. The executive committee shall consist of the president, vice-president, the clerk, and the chairman of the deacons.
2. It shall meet as necessary to:
A. Nominate persons for membership to the ministry teams.
B. Consider and, if necessary, act upon such matters as may arise between meetings of the church council and cannot be postponed until the next meeting. It shall report its actions to the next church council meeting.
C. It shall have the power to call special meetings of the church council.
3. It shall appoint an auditing committee before September of each year.
THE BUILDING AND GROUNDS MINISTRY TEAM:
1. The building and grounds ministry team shall be responsible for the maintenance, efficiency and good appearance of the properties and physical equipment of the church, both for members and guests.
2. The building and grounds ministry team shall consist of one member from the church council and at least 5 members from the congregation at large.

3. It shall semi-annually inspect the properties to determine what repairs and improvements must be made; and, as necessary, shall confer with the leaders of the church and the church's other ministry team chairpersons.
4. It shall supervise the work of the custodians and shall transmit to the deacons its recommendations regarding salaries and amenities for the custodial staff.
5. It shall have authority to grant the use of the church facilities to individuals, families and organizations according to existing policies and regulations.
6. It shall arrange that the church kitchen is clean, defrost the refrigerator, keep ovens clean, keep dishes in proper order along with an adequate supply of towels, dish cloths, white paper rolls for table covers, regular and decaff coffee supplies along with napkins, cups, sugar and powdered cream. It shall also plant flowers in the outside flower boxes.
7. It shall provide for the annual cleaning of the church and make the necessary arrangements for the participation of the members.
8. It shall arrange for the operation and maintenance of the sound system of the church and for the recording of worship services.
THE EDUCATION MINISTRY TEAM:
1.The education committee exists to help believers and unbelievers know Jesus better.
2. The education ministry team shall consist of the two members of the church council, the superintendent(s) of the Sunday School, and three members from the congregation at large.
3. The education committee shall supervise the church school program, Cadets, Gems, Seniors Group, Vacation Bible School, jail ministry, Crossroads ministry, Caregroups, women's groups, men's groups and youth groups.:
4. It shall recommend to the church council the persons to be appointed to the library staff and shall receive periodic reports from the librarians. It shall purchase new books, tapes, videos, magazines, etc. Provide a library attendant each week and be responsible for general upkeep of books, and clean and organize the shelves.
5. It shall arrange for lectures, seminars, retreats, workshops, bible study groups and whatever other educational programs it deems necessary or desirable, both for those in a church and those without a church
6. It shall maintain appropriate contact with the various organizations of the church concerned with education.
7. It shall avail itself of all resources provided by such agencies as Christian Reformed Home Missions and shall seek the advice of the staff of such agencies.
8. It shall initiate and oversee the "Network" spiritual gifts class.
9. It shall arrange for the ongoing use of reading materials, Sunday school papers, devotionals, greeting card fronts, bibles, etc. and deliver the same to the Christian Literature Distribution center in the Twin Cities.
10. It shall arrange for the timely submission of all financial requests for educational purposes.
11. It shall arrange for the collecting of stamps at church to be used for the Christian Literature League.
12. It shall assure that all financial accounting and reporting be adhered with by all those involved in the educational program of the church.
13. It shall continually consider what else they can do to help unbelievers experience Jesus better
THE WORSHIP MINISTRY TEAM:
1. The worship ministry team exists to draw to worship both the churched and the unchurched
2. The worship ministry team shall consist of two members from the council, the head organist and 3 members from the congregation at large.
3. The worship ministry team shall consult with the pastor regarding worship and recommend to the church council any significant or permanent changes it determines to be beneficial.
4. It shall regulate the administration of holy communion.
5. It shall engage pulpit supply when necessary.
6. It shall exercise general supervision of the participation of the musicians and their functioning in the worship services.
7. In consultation with the building and grounds ministry team, it shall supervise the physical aspects of the worship setting, such as temperature, banners, decor, etc.
8. It shall make, maintain and repair banners, update bulletin boards, decorate for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas or when need arises and supply flower arrangements or plants for the front of the church.
9. It shall oversee the work of the nursery coordinator. That coordinator will oversee nursery personnel and also keep the bedding washed, purchase necessary supplies, buy toys when needed, as well as other nursery supplies.
10. It shall nominate the head usher and exercise general supervision of the work of the ushers.
11. It shall exercise general supervision over the church bulletin and the general contents thereof.
12. It shall create cards/postcards for members to hand to neighbors informing about upcoming events.
13. It shall continually evaluate worship services ensuring that they are centered on God’s word and understandable to those without a church
THE FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY TEAM:
1. It shall seek to be creative in discovering ways and means to promote understanding, sympathy, fellowship and service throughout the congregation, and those without a church.
2.The fellowship ministry shall consist of at least one member of the church council and 5 members of the congregation.
3. It shall plan and supervise an annual church picnic and other social functions and events to promote the programs of the church in these matters including fellowship luncheons or dinners, the mother-daughter banquet and the women's Fall fellowship evening. The ministry team shall work as necessary in cooperation with other ministry teams and organizations.
4. The fellowship ministry team shall appoint persons and maintain schedules for greeters to welcome visitors to the church both before and after the services. Greeters shall seek to establish solid contacts with visitors who live in the Hollandale area, trying especially to obtain their addresses and other pertinent information.
5. It shall arrange for people to be of service by preparing food or by working at the church for social gatherings, funerals, weddings, anniversaries and church program functions.

THE SERVICE MINISTRY TEAM:
1. The service ministry team exists to coordinate the skills of the congregation in assistance to those in the church and without a church.
The service ministry team shall consist of one deacon and five members of the congregation at large.
2. It shall seek to provide for the needs of the members of the congregation insofar as is feasible and which needs cannot be met by the members of their families.
3. It shall seek to develop ministries to the community which demonstrate the compassion and love of Christ in word and deed.
4. It shall solicit, encourage and assist the members of the church in the use of their gifts in ministering to the needs of others.
5. It shall be especially concerned with the needs of the elderly, the widows, widowers, singles, and those coping with disabilities.
6. It shall arrange for the collecting of soup labels and have the labels prepared and delivered to the Christian school.
7. It shall continually consider new ways to assist those without a church
THE PRAYER MINISTRY TEAM:
1. The prayer ministry team exists to creatively seek new ways to deepen the prayer life of our church.
