BEING A WITNESS OF JESUS

 

Sometimes, it's really hard to know how to talk about Jesus with someone who doesn't believe. Just saying His name can make our hearts race.

 

First, we need the right to talk about Him, and that comes from listening. We can talk about Jesus when we've loved, genuinely loved our friend, our co-worker. We care about what happens in their lives. We ask, and we listen. We make sure they know we're with them in their lives, whether in the struggles or in the joys.

 

Then, and only then, can we talk about Jesus. And the following are examples of how to naturally, calmly bring Jesus into a conversation. Don't worry. The more you use Jesus' name in conversation, the easier it will be. Besides, the joy of knowing you are obeying Jesus' command to witness will start to drive all the fear away. Try it!

 

 

1. Your friend: How are you?

You: Not great, but I know with Jesus there’s more than just this life. Without Him, this is it. With Him, I know there's a whole lot of life to look forward to.

 

2. Your friend: How’s work?

You: Great. You know, I have a lot of meaning in my work because Jesus is in my life.

 

3. Your friend: How's work?

You: It's tough, but Jesus sure helps me get through the day.

 

4. Your friend: How’s retirement?

You: Well, I’m looking to see where Jesus is leading. I’m finding that without Him, this would be a little scary. With Him, I know there’s a great purpose.

 

5. Your friend: How’s the kids?

You: I miss them, but it’s great knowing Jesus is there, caring for them.

 

6. Your friend: What'd you do this weekend?

You: I went to church. It was great. I was refreshed. I was reminded that Jesus is the most important person in my life.

 

7. Your friend: What are you going to do this weekend?

You: I'm going to church. I need to be reminded again that Jesus is the most important person in my life.

 

8. Your friend: That's a great song.

You: I know! I love that Jesus created music!

 

9. Your friend: What a beautiful day.

You: Yes! Jesus did a great job with the sunshine today

 

10. Your friend: Did you hear about (name) and the mess their in?

You: Yeah. I've been asking Jesus to help them out of that mess.
